The DataPro training plan is built upon a comprehensive curriculum covering salient topics in data protection. We prioritize the perspective of school students, addressing identified learning hurdles such as technical complexities and counterintuitive aspects. By considering the diverse needs of different target groups, our curriculum ensures that all school students receive relevant and effective training.

Each partner in our project tailors syllabi to suit the specific conditions and needs of their country. Syllabi consider systemic differences in education and incorporate common and divergent learning goals. We also take into account the level of general education and previous knowledge of school students to ensure that syllabi are inclusive and accessible.

The DataPro training plan integrates innovative methodologies, including action-oriented and game-based approaches. By leveraging situated learning effects and motivational dimensions, we enhance student engagement and understanding of data protection principles. In addition to curriculum development, our project fosters a network on data protection education through diverse networking activities. This includes exchanges with national and international data protection and cyber security agencies, as well as data protection officers. These activities facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.

The main outcomes of our project include a report on learning hurdles in data protection, a curriculum reflecting identified challenges, and national training course plans (syllabi) tailored to specific national conditions. We also conduct concept workshops to finalize the training plan and disseminate it efficiently. Furthermore, we aim to establish an EU-wide network on data protection education stakeholders, fostering collaboration and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of our training program.

By participating in the DataPro training program, learners enhance their data privacy and cybersecurity competences, preparing them to tackle the challenges of digitalization. We aim to foster self-empowerment and active citizenship among students, equipping them with skills for future life. Additionally, our project creates opportunities for learners to connect with peers from different European countries, promoting cultural exchange and collaboration.

The DataPro project provides students with a set of tools, including:

a) Learning tools: Game-based learning options such as an online Educational Escape Room. Quiz-based learning tools like a mobile quiz on GDPR. Mobile micro-learning options like a set of HTML-based micro-learning modules on cybersecurity basics.

b) An adapted version of the GEIGER mobile learning app, specifically tailored for data protection topics and target groups in the school context.

c) AI-based learning tools or materials, newly developed to enhance students' understanding of data protection.

d) License-based tool adaptations for data protection content, designed to integrate seamlessly into prominent school software infrastructures like H5P, Kahoot, and Actionbound.
